We built Animal ID to help you identify animals — nothing more. This page explains in plain language what happens with your information when you use the app.
Animal ID doesn't ask for your name, email, location, or anything like that. You don't create an account. We don't track you.
When you submit a photo, it's sent to our server to figure out what animal is in it. Once we have an answer, the photo is deleted — we don't keep it. We never store your photos.
Your identification history (the animals you've found) is saved only on your device. It never leaves your phone. If you delete the app, it's gone.
Animal ID uses OpenAI to analyse photos. Your photo is sent to OpenAI only to get an identification result — they don't use it for anything else. You can read OpenAI's privacy policy at openai.com.
We don't use any advertising or analytics services.
Animal ID doesn't collect information from anyone, including children under 13. No account, no data.
Feel free to email us at animalid2026@gmail.com — we're happy to help.
